Advancing the Gospel: Centennial Vision for COGIC Haiti (1929 - 2029)

Write down the [vision] and make it plain on tablets so that a herald may run with it. Habakkuk 2: 2 (NIV)

The Lord accomplishes his purposes in accordance with established plans. The example of his relationship with the prophet Habakkuk is compelling. He gave him a definite prophecy to write down on tablets while also assuring  him the promise of its fulfillment:

For the revelation awaits an appointed time;

it speaks of the end and will not prove false.;

Though it lingers, wait for it;, for it will certainly

come and will not delay

... The righteous will live by his faith -(Habakkuk 2; 3-4 (NIV))

Founded on January 13, 1929, the Church of God in Christ Haiti eagerly looks to its centennial anniversary on January 13, 2029 in fifteen years. In line with the prophecy of Habakkuk, we develop this centennial vision that includes the reconstruction of churches  and the fulfillment of plans crafted in six “E” letters, Evangelism, Education, Entre-Aid, Excellence, Expansion, and Exploitation..

RECONSTRUCTION

In January  2010, Haiti was hit by a 7.1 earthquake that caused great damage to the infrastructure of the countryan earthquake,  registering 7.1 on the Richter Scale hit Haiti, causing great damage to the infrastructure of the country. • Help each other in providing needed servicess.
  • Promote health programs
  • Help each other in different projects
  • Establish a social assistance program for the elderly and disabled
  • Acquire a BUS to ensure transportation between the capital and our campus in Latremblais

4. EXCELLENCE

In light of the biblical call to excel in all things (2 Corinthians 8: 7), we intend to  promote excellence in ministry and administration to:

  • Ensure the growth and management of our churches
  • Encourage excellence in preaching
  • Maintain good records keeping
  • Uphold sound teaching of the doctrine of the Church of God in Christ

5. EXPANSION COGIC CAMPUS LATREMBLAIS

COGIC HAITI has already laid the foundation for a campus in Latremblais which includes the cathedral, the building of the University Jean Price-Mars, the orphanage, the clinic and the guesthouse. We intend to expand and beautify the campus with the immediate by purchasing  a quarter of an acre of land, (at the cost of 40,000 USD) for use to build a :

  • Dormitory to welcome our delegates at major meetings
  • Youth Recreation Center
  • Residence for seniors
  • Primary / Secondary School
  • A School of Education
  • Acquire 23/100 of an acre of land at the cost of $40,000 (Immediate)
  • Build a wall to secure the campus (at a cost of )
  • Plaster the back side of the building to secure its structural soundness

6. EXPLOITATION (AGRICULTURAL)

COGIC-Haiti was given the extraordinary gift of one hundred and four acres of land in the Central Plateau of Haiti.  The challenge for the Church is to take possession of thise land which land, which implies its exploitation. We plan to develop   this great property by:

  • The creation of the CENTRAL PLATEAU Development Council
  • The building of a church and school
  • The implantation of agricultural projects.

Any effort of exploitation calls for the construction of a multi-purpose building to house a church, school and a residence for workers attending to the project.  A rough estimate for a building is $100.000.00.

EXCELSIOR!
